Instructions:


When we visualize our dreams, we can set into motion their existence. Vision boards are used to create a visual representation of what can be: our dream world, our dream schools.

Find a minimum of three images (online or your own) and a variety of words, quotes, phrases, etc. that represent the type of world or type of schools that Adrienne Rich describes in her poem, Dreams before Waking. Be sure to save any images you want to use on your computer. Add your media to the vision board template to create a vision board that represent the type of classroom you would like to create for your students.

When finished, post your vision board to the wiki.Provide feedback to one of your classmates by leaving a comment on their wiki vision board.

Creating your page:

  1. While on the page "Activity 7-B-1: Vision Board" (this page) click the plus sign (+) next to "Pages and Files" on the left menu.
  2. Name your page Activity 7-B-1 - First Name and Last Initial (example: Activity 7-B-1 Mary P.).
  3. In the Use a Template section, select "Vision Board Template."
  4. Click "Create.”
  5. Your new page has been created and you will be taken to the page. Follow instructions found on the page for completing the activity.

Link to your page:

  1. While on the page "Activity 7-B-1: Vision Board" (this page) click "Edit."
  2. Scroll down to the Participant Page Links section.
  3. Place your cursor under the bottom entry.
  4. Click the "Link" button on the toolbar.
  5. In the Link Text box, enter your page name (example: Activity 7-B-1 Mary P.).
  6. Use the Page Name drop-down menu to locate and select your page (the name will match what you entered when creating the page).
  7. Click "Add Link."
  8. Click Save.

To comment on a classmate's work:

  1. On your classmate's page, click the Edit tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Scroll down to the comment section.
  3. Type your comments followed by your first name and last initial.
  4. Click Save.
